allows people to help their families deal with death and with all the legal
ramifications that come with dying and death. It includes discussions about
Living Wills and Advance Directives, forms to help your survivors know your
wishes, and what you need to know if a family member is dying. It primarily
deals with the legal issues but also provides some pastoral help Faithful Living, Faithful Dying – ECUSA-End of Life Taskforce from 72nd General Convention;
2000 Information
gathered by the Taskforce, and their reflections on it, to assist
individuals, congregations, and the Church to untangle the thicket of ethical,
theological, pastoral, and policy concerns caused by medical advances which
sustain life & prolong dying. As I Lay Dying – Richard John Neuhaus, Basic Books of Perseus Books Group; 2002 Neuhaus was
diagnosed with an intestinal cancer which was followed by some medical
mistakes which brought him very close to death. These meditations are his
reflections as he recovered from this experience. They do not describe a
“near death” experience, but rather the thoughts, feelings, and experiences
of one who was very ill and close to death. A fascinating exploration of
dying. See also: Christian Formation - Youth (Video) A Cry for Help –
Paraclete Video Productions; Brewster MA; 2001 The subtitle is “How to help a friend who is depressed or suicidal”,
and this video talks about the reasons behind such behavior as well as how a
friend can help. It uses many teens talking about these problems-some who
have been there and some who are friends-and helps the youth learn what to
look for in a friend who may need their help. (Video) When a Loved One Dies
– Paraclete Video Productions; Brewster MA; 2001 This video is designed to help those who have lost a loved one and
help them realize how much of what they are feeling is normal as well as how
to face the future and learn to cope. The
