Confirm not Conform – St John’s Episcopal Church, Oakland CA; 2007

This is a new program developed in an Oakland CA church to help youth explore their understandings of faith and of the Episcopal Church; it is a year-long program which involves the entire congregation and also offers an adult component. Available for preview: introductory packet with lesson 1, on paper & CD.

 

Keeping the Promise - by Andrew D Parker, Morehouse Publishing, Harrisburg PA

Designed as a mentoring program, 9 sections, student and mentor meet regularly with some meetings of full group of participants, includes Mentor's and Student's books

 

I Will With God’s Help – Mary Lee Wile, Living the Good News, Denver CO; 2000

A six-twelve session Confirmation course for youth and/or adults; it takes a look at each of the baptismal promises in preparation for Confirmation and offers a solid reflection on our Episcopal heritage and belief. It may be taught by either lay or clergy and includes a good introduction explaining current thinking on Confirmation. The Leader’s Guide includes an extensive bibliography; also Youth and Adult Journals.
